Illustrated movie poster of the horror movie “Midsommar”, written and directed by Ari Aster. The film follows a group of friends who travel to Sweden to attend a midsummer festival, where they quickly realize they are in the midst of a violent cult. I wanted to focus on the emotional core and nexus of the film- the trauma and inevitable downfall of the main couple. I merged the beginning tragedy with the ending tragedy, a ritualistic burning.
